In conjunction with the 50th Convocation Ceremony of University Technology Malaysia today, YBhg Dato' Seri Shahril Shamsuddin has been conferred the UTM Honorary Doctoral Degree of Technology Management. The prestigious award is in recognition of YBhg Dato' Seri Shahril's leadership in the development of strategic technologies and contributions nation building.
In his acceptance speech, YBhg Dato’
Seri Shahril shared that the award is an honour he accepts on behalf of the
many thousands Sapura employees who have sacrificed their time in Sapura for
nearly four decades. They have remained focused, driven and committed to
create, develop and build the nation's first Bumiputera technology company,
which is now a Global Brand.
He added, 'To all Sapura employees
past and present, I am both humbled yet proud to accept this doctorate on
behalf of all of you. It is due to your collective courage, tenacity and
creativity that I stand here today receiving this for all of you. Alhamdulillah'
YBhg Dato' Seri Shahril went on to
honour and thank YBhg Tan Sri Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir as an inspiration
and pillar in his life. He further dedicated this lifetime award from UTM to
his late mother, Allahyarhamah Puan Sri Siti Sapura Husin and to YBhg Tan Sri
Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir.
